Bakewell Carnival Royalty
Bakewell Carnival Royalty are selected around March each year and announced in May. They consist of;
- Carnival Queen – 12 years and up
- Princess – 8–11 years
- Rosebud / Pageboy – 5–7 years
The Carnival Royalty represent the Carnival team across the range of events, culminating in their participation in the carnival on the royalty float.

Rosie, Carnival Queen 2025
Hi, I’m Rosie, and I was the Carnival Queen for Bakewell in 2025.
It was a truly wonderful experience, and I’m so glad I did it. I’ve always loved carnival time, and I had already been the Carnival Princess in 2023. It’s such a rewarding role. As Queen, you get to choose your colours, your flowers, and your dress, and you also get to decorate and paint the Carnival Queen trailer. I chose blue, as it’s my favourite colour, although in 2023 we wore pink.
I also visited other carnivals, representing Bakewell, and was proud to win trophies during the season.
You wear a special sash, have your hair done on the day, and are crowned in front of the community. It’s a very exciting and memorable experience, especially when everyone is waving and cheering. If you love the carnival and are local to the area, I truly believe it is a brilliant opportunity to get involved.
