Bakewell Carnival Day
The Bakewell Carnival is the highlight of the festivities and relies not only on our amazing spectators, but the incredible carnival entrants – from walkers to float truck drivers.

We welcome carnival entries from all and no pre-registration is required. To join the carnival procession, please gather on the Recreation ground by 2.00pm for judging.
Entrance to the Recreation Ground is off the A6 opposite the Texaco Petrol Station, or on foot by following the river down from Bakewell Bridge to the entrance to the park and then turning to your right once the park opens up in front of you.
Once the judging has completed, the crowning of the Carnival Queen takes place at 2.30pm ahead of the parade beginning at 3.00pm.
All roads in and out of Bakewell will be closed between 2.55pm and 4.30pm to all traffic whilst the carnival parade makes it’s way through the town on the round route, before returning to the Recreation ground.
Town centre parking is available and there is a large car park on the agricultural centre too.
Throughout the day, bouncy castles, food stalls and fair rides are available in town and across the river at the Agricultural Centre.
On the Recreation ground, additional entertainment will be displayed and performing, from classic cars and marching bands to dance troops, Majorette’s and the renowned Billerettes.

We look forward to seeing you there and in case of any questions please contact us.
